Care Co-Ordinator

Orchid Care is a professional homecare provider supporting individuals in Enfield and surrounding areas. We offer our clients a high-quality level of care and support in the comfort of their own homes. Our dedicated team support adults with:

Personal Care; Respite Care; Live in Care; Dementia and Alzheimer’s Care; Companionship; Medication Assistance; Shopping and Meal preparation; Domestic Duties; and Social Activities.

We require a self motivated and experienced care coordinator/deputy manager to join our ever expanding domiciliary home care team. This is an office-based position which includes performing many of the associated admin duties like managing care/client files, producing compliance documents and occasionally being on-call on a scheduled rota basis. You will liaise with healthcare professionals, care workers, clients, and their families to provide excellent standards of care and support with skilled and experienced teams of Care Assistants.

Duties will include,

Rotas

Supervision of carers
Liaising with local authorities, GP’s, OT’s and District Nurses.
Liaising with Service Users.
Answering all incoming telephone enquiries. Act as the primary telephone liaison for staff and clients once they have started using our community services.
Implementation of thorough recruitment and vetting procedures of all Care & Support Workers.
Processing new client referrals. Process and prioritise requests for services, managing staff rotas ensuring turnaround and response times are met.
Preparing appropriate documentation for Field Care Supervisors.
Permanent allocation of Care & Support Workers to all client visits and ensuring all visits always covered. To implement a high quality service through the effective matching of service user needs with suitably qualified and experienced care workers.
Administration of all Individual Care & Support Agreements.
Maintaining client and Care & Support Worker office files and ensuring that they are always up to date.
Maintaining computer system up to date at all times. Using our care management system to prepare rotas – covering sickness, training and annual leave.
Ensuring all clients and Care & Support Worker documentation and electronic records are kept up to date at all times.
Cover care calls in an emergency
Keep contact logs up to date.
Resolve day to day issues and report to Manager.
Respond appropriately to complaints, concerns and incidents.
Cover the out of hours phone (on call) as part of a rota.
To work closely with the Field Care Supervisor.
To ensure compliance with all office systems and procedures.
Production of reports and management information as required.
Carry out supervisions and end of probation meetings with staff
Ensure that the Quality of Service Provision meets with policies and expectations and regulatory requirements are met.
To facilitate effective communication between the Organisation, service users, care workers and outside Health Professionals and Local Authorities.
To manage and monitor the branch’s rostering requirements of its care team
At all times observe and respect the service user’s dignity, privacy and independence as far as is practical.
Strong communicator who is fluent in English (both written and spoken)
Friendly telephone manner, compassionate and caring
Good negotiation skills
Ability to work under pressure and multi-task
Strong organisational and time management skills
Ability to work to deadlines & take direction
Be able to think fast on their feet and make quick decisions
You must be a team player and be able to trouble shoot when the pressure is on. Ideally you will already be in a similar position or maybe you are a senior carer looking for the next step in your career.
Candidate MUST have previous experience as a Care Coordinator.

Salary: £24k-£26k

Hours: 9am to 5pm
